Algico’s Major medical products are designed to provide covered employees with assistance in paying the medical expenses of serious or prolonged illnesses and accidents. The coverage is broad and usually includes all types of medical expenses. 

Additionally our Supplementary Major medical benefit is usually sold to supplement the Medical Assistance benefits which are stated as maximum amount payable toward the cost of certain in and out of hospital medical expenses.

To Algico’s basic plan, employers can choose to add the following additional benefits

1. Dental: Covers a specified list of dental services using specific maximum reimbursement levels.
   1. Type 1 - preventative procedures : (e.g. exams, emergency treatment) 
   2. Type 2 – basic procedures 
   3. Type 3 – major procedures (e.g. crowns, dentures)
   4. Type 4 – Orthodontia
2. Vision: Covers a specified list of vision services using specific maximum reimbursement levels.
   1. Provides reimbursement of eligible optical expenses for optic examinations and/or optical supplies performed by a legally qualified ophthalmologist or optometrist subject to the amounts  specified in the Schedule of Benefits
   2. Examinations are limited to one per person every twelve months.
   3. Lenses are limited to one pair per person during any twelve consecutive months
   4. Frames are limited to one per person during any twenty-four consecutive months.
